Question
What is a steam shower?
Answer
It is a shower that has been enclosed and made watertight. A steam generator has been
added to supply steam to this shower, allowing bathers to take a steambath in their own
home.
Question How is the steam generated?
Answer A MrSteam steam generator, complete with in-shower controls, ensures that steam is sent into the steam shower when the control is activated.
Installation
Question
Can I fit a steam generator to an existing shower installation?
Answer
Yes, as long as the shower is enclosed and constructed of quality tile or marble, or a
similar material making it watertight. In no time, you can be enjoying a steambath.
Question
What should I take into account when installing a MrSteam steam generator?
Answer
It is exactly the same as installing a shower, except that you will need to find a home
for the generator, which will require its own cold water feed, drain, and electrical
supply.

Can the generator be wired to the 240V house electric supply?
Answer
Only a qualified, licensed electrician should wire the steam generator to the house
electric supply.

Does the steam shower require special ventilation?
Answer
No. After steambathing, it is only necessary to turn on your shower, allowing excess steam
to condense within the shower enclosure.

Where do I install the steam generator?
Answer
Anywhere within 50 feet of the shower. This can be in a vanity, closet, basement, or
heated attic.

Where is the MrSteam control located?
Answer
Since all MrSteam Smart Series controls are for in-shower use, it is recommended that they
be located inside the shower enclosure.
Using and Maintaining Your Steam Bath

What is AutoFlush®?
Answer
AutoFlush refers to an accessory whereby after every steambathing use an automatic drain
valve is opened and scale, sediment, and used water is sent to drain. This feature allows
clean water to be used for the next steam bath, resulting in clean steam every time™
.

Do I need a water softener?
Answer
Generally, any reduction in the tendency for scale to form, such as effective water
softening, will be beneficial.

Are there any times when I should not take a steam bath?
Answer
Generally, you should not take a steam bath immediately after a heavy meal or under the
influence of alcohol.

Is breathing in the steam difficult?
Answer
No. In fact, if you use ecalyptus, Breathe, or similar AromaSteam™ essences, it will
help ease nasal congestion.

How long is a typical steam bath session?
Answer
Usually 10-15 minutes, but it can be longer if desired.

Should I relax after taking a steam bath?
Answer
The longer you spend in the steam bath, the more you will need to relax. A cool bath or
shower is a nice way to bring your body temperature back to normal, restore luster and
close pores, helping you feel like new!

Within the 110 - 120 degree F range.
